Barney Bubbles

Hundreds of Barney Bubbles designs in new Swedish exhibition

Hundreds of record sleeves and pieces of ephemera designed by Barney Bubbles are currently on display in Sweden’s oldest record store, Burmans Musik in Umeå.

The exhibition is organised by the Bubbles collector Stefan Nilsson, whose comprehensive collection comprises more than 100 12″ sleeves, 60-plus 7″ covers as well as many posters, stickers, flyers and book and magazine designs.

There are many rarities and rare variants covering the designer’s work in music from his first, the booklet inset into Quintessence’s 1969 album In Blinding Light, to his last, the cover of Ian Dury’s 1984 album 10,000 Weeks Holiday.

The exhibition at Burmans runs until November 26, which was founded in 1949. Check out Burmans wesbite here and contact stefan@burmans.com.
