New: Muleskinners Knockout R+B Here Tonight shirts
A new addition to the Barney Bubbles Shop is the 1964 design for Twickenham Tech art school r&b group The Muleskinners, whose line-up included the late, great Ian McLagan of the Small Faces and The Faces.
Available as a regular T and long sleeved shirt, this is the first time this design has been made generally available. In 2008 there was a very short run – Mac was delighted to receive one of those – and then five years ago the Estate’s collaboration with Fred Perry resulted in a limited edition.
At the time he made the design, Bubbles was Colin Fulcher; he produced the original as a one-off, applying rub-on lettering to a T which was worn by his friend Lorry Sartorio for a shoot for a Mods & Rockers project.
This resulted in the creation of a promotional design for the group which won a British Poster Award in 1965.
